What is a First-Year Project (FYP)?

皇冠体育平台|体育视频The Tuck First-Year Project (FYP) is a required course in which teams of Tuck students apply learning from their entire first year at Tuck to complex, real-world issues of strategic importance for a variety of clients—multinational corporations, SMEs, nonprofit/nongovernmental entities, and early-stage startups from a wide range of industries.

Global First-Year Project (FYPGO)

皇冠体育平台|体育视频Some First-Year Projects are designed to include a global travel component that will satisfy the TuckGO Global Requirement for graduation. Learn more about two such global First-Year Projects (FYPGO) below.

Irving Oil

Learn more about a global First-Year Project (FYPGO) with Irving Oil where a team of Tuck students evaluated the company’s expansion into the electric vehicle market and, specifically, how the company might best position itself to be a market leader in the implementation of electrical vehicle charging stations at its retail sites. The team traveled to both Saint John, New Brunswick and Oslo, Norway to learn more about EV disruption and meet with clients in country.


The Normandy Institute

For their First-Year Project, five Tuck students worked with the Normandy Institute to cultivate a vision for the future. Over spring break, the team traveled to France where they met with the founder and director of the Normandy Institute, and discussed the organization’s goals: To provide an institute that helps shape our understanding of strategic alliances, history, and complex global issues through the lens of the Normandy landings. Read more.
